The Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland launch first market engagement on Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage

“Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage will not only be good for our climate and energy security, but good for job creation and employment, and I welcome this move to engage with developers from the Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland to understand the needs of stakeholders in order to unlock the potential of CCUS.

“Sadly this work is yet to be matched by a Government which is clearly in no hurry to implement a strategy that would support people and organisations who are ready to play their part in the decarbonisation of our industries. They need more urgency from Ministers.

“It’s time for the Government to pull its finger out and commit to a long-term plan that will see it hit its own targets, and also confirm the go-ahead for clean power and carbon capture, utilisation and storage projects here on Teesside and across the country.”
