Details
These experimental statistics are based on average road fuel
sales, deliveries and stock levels at sampled filling stations in
Great Britain. The frequency of the publication has evolved in
response to different fuel demand patterns.
From 28 July 2022, this publication will be moving to a monthly
basis. The new publication will continue to cover daily sales,
deliveries and stock levels for diesel and petrol. We are
introducing additional information on fuel patterns in Northern
Ireland and a sub-regional breakdown of the key fuel metrics
(down to International Territorial Level (ITL) Level 3).
Our user engagement conducted in 2022 established interest in
these sub-regional data, and a continuation of weekly publication
particularly in an emergency. We will meet the first of these
asks but given the stability of the data we feel it appropriate
to move to a monthly release. In the event of a substantial
disruption to the fuel supply we have mechanisms in place to
revert to weekly reporting.
The first of the monthly publications will be on Thursday 11
August 2022 covering daily data to the end of July 2022. Future
releases will be then be on a fixed publication date of the first
Thursday of the month, capturing daily data to the Sunday of the
previous week. Release dates will be pre-announced in
our calendar of future
publication dates.
