Today Labour has called for Magnistsky sanctions targeting
organisations and individuals engaged in Iran’s crackdown
following protests sweeping the country, as well as for the
urgent commencement of the UN Human Rights Council’s
investigation to gather any evidence of crimes committed by the
  regime.
It comes as seven people with links to Britain, including some
with dual British-Iranian nationality were arrested by Iran’s
  Revolutionary Guards on Sunday.
As well as repression at home, the Iranian regime continues to
sponsor it overseas by selling drones to Russia to use in its
  illegal invasion of Ukraine.
   MP, Labour’s Shadow Foreign
  Secretary, said:
“The killings and repression being carried out by the Iranian
regime against courageous Iranian protestors seeking a better
future is appalling. There must be an end to impunity.
“The UK government urgently needs to put in place new Magnistsky
sanctions against individuals and organisations involved in the
  repression.
“The Iranian regime must be held accountable for every crime it
has committed through an urgent investigation by the UN Human
  Rights Council.”

  Notes
  - "Governments impose Magnitsky sanctions on individuals and
entities responsible for human rights abuses and corruption
across the world. The sanctions are named after Sergei Magnitsky,
a tax adviser killed in a Russian prison after exposing fraud by
Russian government officials. The sanctions freeze the
perpetrators’ assets and stop them from travelling
internationally. They are used by the UK, US, EU and Canada,
together representing over one third of global GDP. In the UK,
the sanctions stop the perpetrators from accessing London, the
world’s second largest financial centre and the world’s largest
  luxury property market." https://redress.org/magnitsky-sanctions/
