Welsh Conservatives mark the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War

Marking the occasion, Welsh Conservative leader, Andrew RT Davies MS said:

“Today, we mark the 40^th anniversary of the Falklands War, remembering the brave men and women who fought and died protecting the sovereign right of the islanders to decide their own destiny.

“We also reflect on the loss of three Falkland Islanders who sadly lost their lives.”

“40 years ago, our armed forces showed the world that the United Kingdom will always protect her citizens and sovereignty across the world. I am immensely proud of the Welsh Guards who played such a vital role in the conflict.

“Today, I also want to pay tribute to all our brave armed forces across the world, who are putting their lives on the line to protect the country that they love. We owe them a great debt.”
