Government response to Elections Bill Report published

The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs has published the Government’s response to the Committee’s Elections Bill Report released late last year.

MPs on the Committee decided to swiftly release the Government’s response ahead of the Bill coming before the House of Lords soon after Parliament returns from recess so as to inform that debate.

The Elections Bill Report urged the Government to look again at consulting stakeholders impacted by the Bill and to provide further evidence for core policy proposals in the Bill before progressing the legislation any further.
