ASCL comment on the release of exam adaptation information

Commenting on the release today of details of exam adaptations and advance information, Geoff Barton, General Secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders, said:

“The publication of advance information about this summer's exams is a vital step in treating students fairly after two years of disruption caused by the pandemic. However, it is also a complicated exercise involving an array of subjects across different exam boards.

“Schools and colleges will be looking closely at how well this measure works and we will be studying their feedback over the next few days.

“It is of paramount importance that this adaptation ensures this summer's exams are as fair as possible in circumstances which have caused hugely variable levels of disruption to young people.”
