Jonathan Ashworth response to new ONS labour market statistics

Jonathan Ashworth, Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, commenting on the latest ONS labour market statistics said:

“These figures confirm that working people are facing a punishing cost of living crisis made in Downing Street.

"Years of the Conservatives' economic incompetence means working people today will not only be paying more in tax under the Conservatives but face heating bills rocketing, prices rising and inflation set to outstrip wage growth. 

"Security, prosperity and respect would be at the heart of Labour's plan to deliver the good, well-paid jobs families deserve. Our plan to deal with rising energy bills would support families with fully-funded measures to save most households around £200 or more.”
