"A Cold Winter Ahead" says Care England

Reacting to the Chancellor’s Budget today, Care England, the largest representative body for independent providers of adult social care, has expressed great disappointment that adult social care was not included in the Chancellor’s speech. 
 
Professor Martin Green OBE, Chief Executive of Care England, says:
 
“Unfortunately, there will be serious and far reaching consequences. Care England has offered a plethora of constructive solutions as to how the Government could alleviate this crisis situation, but we have been left out in the cold; winter is going to be very, very tough without a robust social care sector to support the NHS”.
 
Care England will be scrutinising the Budget papers for a glimpse of help for the sector in order that the Government really can build back better
 
Martin Green continues:
 
“Failure to support the sector will result in unprecedented demand on the NHS, a loss to local economies and of course a failure to deliver care to those most in need”.
