Commenting on the government’s net-zero strategy, Tom Fyans, deputy
chief executive of CPRE, the countryside charity, said: 'The
government's net-zero strategy is far too tentative at a time when
we need bold action. The climate emergency is the single greatest
threat we face – we simply cannot skimp on investing in solutions
as the costs of doing nothing will be far, far higher for future
