Summary estimates of the number of disabled people in employment
are published regularly by the Office for National Statistics
(ONS) as part of their ‘Labour
Market Overview, UK’ series. This publication presents
more detailed analysis and break downs of those summary
estimates.
The statistics include:
- overall trends in employment of disabled people compared with
non-disabled people
- estimates of the factors underlying change in in the number
of disabled people in work under different scenarios
- employment rates for disabled people and non-disabled people
according to several individual and work-related characteristics
- characteristics of people moving into or out of work by
disability status
Future changes to these statistics

the next annual release of
statistics (due to be published on 4 November 2021):
- employer size
- ethnicity
- hours worked
- quality of work indicators

- self-employment
- temporarily away from work
