Anneliese Dodds comments on reports that Conservative co-chair’s company indirectly benefited from £121k tax credits

“Ben Elliot’s activities have already created several unacceptable conflicts of interest, blurring the lines between private interests and public office.

“Now it seems he is happy to take tax credits from the UK Government to subsidise his offshore film company to the tune of tens of thousands of pounds.

“Boris Johnson should have listened to Labour and removed Ben Elliot from his position months ago. The Prime Minister must act now and heed calls for an immediate investigation into his activities.

“If the Prime Minister sits on his hands again, it will show he thinks there is one rule for senior Conservatives and another rule for everyone else.”
