MP complains about First Group during PMQs

During Prime Minister's question time in the Commons today, Chris Loder, Conservative MP for West Dorset said First Group continued to slash services in West Dorset despite receiving millions of pounds in public money. He called on the government to intervene "to save what little service we have...or actively work to get a new operator."

Covering for Boris Johnson while the Prime Minister is in America, Dominic Raab said the DfT had been engaging with the transport operators. He understood that South Western Rail intended to increase service levels to the pre-Covid timetable by May 2022 and had ambitions to increase train frequencies on the Great Western rail route. Dft would continue to work with GWR.
