The Minister for Patient Safety, Suicide Prevention and Mental
Health (Ms Nadine Dorries):...There is already commendable joint
guidance for clinicians on DNACPRs from the British Medical
Association, the Resuscitation Council UK and the Royal College of
Nursing That guidance reflects that the agreement to a DNACPR is an
individual decision and should involve the person concerned or,
where the person lacks capacity, their families, carers, guardians
