Labour comments on the Climate Change Committee's Annual Progress Report

Ed Miliband MP, Labour’s Shadow Business Secretary, commenting on the Climate Change Committee's Annual Progress Report, said:

"This report lays bare for all to see the yawning chasm between government climate rhetoric and the greenwashing reality.

"The message from the CCC is clear - it is telling the Government enough phony promises, vacuous boosterism, and empty photo opportunities. This is the decisive decade and we cannot afford the Conservatives' complacency, inaction and lack of direction.

"The Government owes it to the country to take heed and get on with the hard yards of investment and delivery necessary to protect us from the greatest long-term threat we face and to realise the huge benefits that the transition to net zero promises."
