Jim McMahon MP, Labour’s Shadow Transport Secretary, commenting on a planned ‘day of action’ from UK travel companies to increase pressure on the Government to ease travel restrictions, said:

“It’s clear that it will take a long time for the industry to recover from the fall-out of the pandemic.

“Ministers have presided over shambolic management of our borders and have chosen to turn their backs on the aviation sector and the thousands of livelihoods that depend on it when support was most needed.

“Labour has consistently called for a sectoral deal that secures jobs and protects the aviation supply chain, while continuing to press for higher environmental standards.”
