Which? comments on the Public Accounts Committee's report on the challenge of banning new petrol and diesel cars

"Motorists are being encouraged to switch to electric vehicles ahead of the ban on the sale of petrol and diesel cars, which will play a crucial role in achieving net-zero by 2050. However, our research has found the UK's public charging network, which will be vital for motorists without access to a private charger at home, is complicated and confusing, which could deter people from buying electric vehicles.

"A simplified, reliable public charging infrastructure that offers universal access to all charging networks is needed to ensure electric vehicles are a viable option for all consumers."
