Rosena Allin-Khan comments on the Ironmongery Direct and Mind on mental health issues among tradespeople

"This research makes for alarming reading and should ring alarm bells not only for employers, but also for the Government, when we look towards post-Covid recovery.

"With work related stress, anxiety and depression common throughout the sector, the time to act is now. Tradespeople are constantly reminded of the physical protections put in place, such as hard hats and hi-vis jackets. We must now look after their mental health with the same devotion.

"Workplace mental health is crucial to overall wellbeing. We must break down stigma and ensure employers are actively supporting staff."
