Dr Rosena Allin-Khan comments on the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ warning that NHS mental health beds are full

Dr Rosena Allin-Khan MP, Labour’s Shadow Mental Health Minister, commenting on the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ warning that NHS mental health beds are full, said:

"It's extremely concerning that mental health beds are full, and so many patients are still being sent so far away from their families and support networks.

"After a decade of being under-funded and under-resourced, Covid poses additional challenges for the future of the NHS.

"Mental health needs will continue long after the virus is under control. The Government needs to take mental health seriously in its response to Covid-19."
