John Healey reaction to the publication of the Armed Forces Bill

“The Armed Forces Bill is important legislation to renew our country’s commitment to the men and women of our Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

“As it stands, this bill is a missed opportunity. It does not put the Armed Forces Covenant properly into law to ensure Forces personnel and veterans suffer no disadvantage in access to services, nor will it put right the long-term failings in the military justice system.

“Labour will work constructively and cross-party to get the best for our Forces from this legislation.”
