David Lammy MP, Labour’s Shadow Justice Secretary, responding to
the news that only 1,654 Crown Court trials were listed between
July and September 2020 compared to 6,249 over the same period last
year, said: “At every point in this pandemic, the government has
been too slow to respond. “Instead of dithering throughout the
Spring, it should have quickly rolled out Nightingale courts to
