Alison McGovern MP, Labour’s Shadow Sports Minister, responding to
the rescue package agreed between the EFL and the Premier League,
said: "It is vital that no much-loved club is allowed to cease to
exist purely due to Covid-19. "It is equally important that we see
long term reform of football governance and finance. This pandemic
has exposed deep-rooted problems in our national game. "Without
reform football will be back facing a similar crisis in the
