EAC to hear from Ministers on energy efficiency of existing homes

The Environmental Audit Committee will be holding its final evidence session as part of the Energy Efficiency of Existing Homes inquiry, hearing from Ministers from three Government departments: Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and HM Treasury.

The Committee will be discussing evidence heard during the inquiry, and how Government policy can address concerns about energy efficiency in homes throughout the UK. The session follows the Prime Minister's recent 10-point plan where he announced an extension of the Green Homes Grant and the National Infrastructure Strategy which indicated introducing minimum energy efficiency standards in existing buildings. The Ministers' appearance comes ahead of the publication of the Heat & Buildings Strategy.
