Jonathan Reynolds comments on calls for Government to back Labour amendment requiring pension schemes to align with the Paris Agreement

Jonathan Reynolds MP, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, commenting on calls for the Government to back Labour’s amendment to the Pension Schemes Bill requiring pension schemes to align with the Paris Agreement, said:

"The climate emergency demands urgent action. Labour’s amendment to the Pension Schemes Bill, developed by a coalition across the public and private sector, has the potential to mobilise trillions of pounds towards achieving net zero.

"We urge the Government to show they are committed to tackling the climate emergency and back our amendment. This measure would show the UK as a world leader in the efforts to meet our Paris goals.”
