are, as has been said, opposed to the Bill as it stands, and
amendments have been tabled on their behalf on a cross-party basis.
When challenged as to why the powers in the Bill are needed, the
Government’s responses are wholly unconvincing. From everything I
have seen and heard, the Bill appears to be a solution looking for
