Course summary
This course aims to introduce live online learning concepts
and techniques in an online environment using a combination
of talks, exercises and fun activities embracing the
principle of “learning by doing”. During the 1 hour session,
there will be an opportunity to interact with the Academy
facilitator and other attendees and the techniques being
shared in this session will role model how live online
learning works. The session is learning platform agnostic so
that all the techniques are applicable for use on the most
popular video conferencing platforms used today.
This GDS Academy online course is aimed at people who will
use online interactive learning for teaching, inductions or
for interactive online conferences where engagement of
attendees is an important factor.
Course aims and objectives
This course introduces live online learning concepts and
techniques to people who need to deliver interactive and
engaging learning online.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- explain how live online learning is different from
webinars
- recognise how different software can support interactive
learning
- understand what is needed to facilitate online learning
effectively

Eligibility
This online course is aimed at anyone who needs to deliver
learning online using virtual tools.
Duration
This course takes 1 hour to complete.
Cost
The course costs £45 (+VAT) per person. You must have a
purchase order before requesting a place on the course.
Training locations
This course is run online. Attendees will need access to a
desktop or laptop computer with broadband access and be able
to access zoom video conferencing along with access to your
microphone.
