Lucy Powell MP, Shadow Minister for Business and Consumers,
commenting on reports that Edinburgh Woollen Mill has filed a
notice to appoint administrators affecting 24,000 workers, said:
"Yet another mass redundancy announcement underlines once again
that our high streets are hanging by a thread. "We cannot be numb
