Committee to hear from aerospace, chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors as end of transition period approaches

The Committee on the Future Relationship with the European Union returns on Wednesday 30 September with a virtual evidence session, examining how the end of the transition period will affect a trio of heavily regulated industries: Aerospace, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals.

In this evidence session, the Committee will consider the current operating and regulatory environment at EU and domestic level, the UK and EU’s respective negotiating positions, and the implications of the two sides failing to reach an agreement. Witnesses are also expected to be questioned about the preparations they are undertaking as the transition period draws to a close.

The Committee will question representatives from ADS Group, the trade organisation representing the UK aerospace, defence, security and space industries, chemicals multinational BASF, and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry.

Evidence session details

The Committee’s evidence session will begin at 09.30am on Wednesday 30 September and be available to watch via parliamentlive.tv. Witnesses and Committee members will participate remotely.
