Bahrain and Israel: UK responds to announcement of normalisation

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said:

I warmly welcome this important agreement normalising relations between Bahrain and Israel. Full diplomatic relations between two of the UK’s friends is excellent news.

I was pleased to discuss with Bahraini Foreign Minister Al Zayani during his visit to London earlier this week how normalisation would contribute towards peace in the region.

CFI welcomes “another historic moment for the Middle East” as Israel and Bahrain normalise ties

In response to today’s joint statement between Israel, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States announcing full diplomatic relations, CFI Parliamentary Chairmen Rt. Hon. Stephen Crabb MP and Rt. Hon. The Lord Pickles, and CFI Honorary President Lord Polak CBE said:

“The announcement of diplomatic relations between Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain represents another historic moment for the Middle East. The region has been transforming before our eyes in recent years and the latest example of Israel and an Arab neighbour charting a course toward a future of peace and shared prosperity must be welcomed and supported fully. We commend the leadership of Israel, Bahrain, and the United States for this landmark achievement”.
