Member for Louth and Horncastle talked about the national referral
mechanism after it was raised by another Member. In fact, a victim
of domestic violence was asked during the evidence session whether
she had been referred to the national referral mechanism. As
somebody who used to be one of the people administering the
national referral mechanism and who ran one of the trafficking
services for many years—in fact, I helped to set it up with
the Salvation Army as one of the
sub-contractors—I want to express, for the benefit of the
Committee, some concerns about the cross-over with the national
referral mechanism in such cases...
