Transport Committee to question Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps MP

The Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps MP, is to update the Transport Committee on the impact of Coronavirus on UK transport next week.

The session will take place on Tuesday 7 April, 2020, as a virtual meeting broadcast by the Parliamentary Broadcasting Unit. The witnesses and committee members will join the meeting remotely.

MPs will ask about the Department’s response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis and the implications for various transport sectors. As news of a package for buses is expected soon, Baroness Vere will join the session.

This will be the second update which the committee has sought from the Secretary of State in recent weeks. A summary note of the first meeting was circulated previously (link below).
