The Health and Social Care Committee approves of the Government’s preferred candidate for Chair of NICE

The Health and Social Care Committee has published its report on the appointment of Sharmila Nebhrajani OBE as the Chair of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). 

The Committee held the pre-appointment hearing on Tuesday 10th March 2020 and is satisfied that Ms Nebhrajani has the professional competence and personal independence required of the Chair of NICE. 

The Committee are therefore pleased to endorse her appointment and wish her well for her tenure as Chair.
