“Johnson and Javid have been caught red handed forcing
through tens of billions of pounds of cuts to public services.
Caught lying again, it confirms yet again you can't believe a
word that comes out of Johnson's mouth.”

ministers to identify cuts of at least 5 per cent to their

Chancellor’s letter has not yet been made public but, using OBR
figures (https://cdn.obr.uk/March-2019_EFO_Web-Accessible.pdf,
see p. 91), if the cuts are to 2020-2021 RDEL budgets, a 5 per
cent cut would mean a £16 billion cut to departmental budgets
(2020-21 public sector current expenditure in RDEL being forecast
at £324.6 billion). If the cuts are to total public sector
current expenditure (forecast to be £772.1 billion in 2020-21), a
5 per cent cut could mean a £39 billion cut to departmental
budgets.
