, Labour’s Shadow
Education
Secretary, commending
students on the publication of their A-Level results,
said:
“Congratulations to everyone receiving
their A-Level results today.
“And thank you to parents and carers, education leaders and
teachers for their hard work in supporting young people through
their education.
“We need to give more support to our students, so Labour
will abolish predicted grades and implement post-qualification
admissions.
“This will allow those studying to make informed choices,
and reduce the stress of the transition to higher
education.
“Students should be proud of what they have achieved today,
and we are proud of them.”

Notes to editors:
Labour’s radical policies for higher education
include:
· Building
a National Education Service to make lifelong
learning a reality by giving everyone the opportunity to access
education throughout their lives, which is free at the point of
use. https://labour.org.uk/manifesto/education/
· Labour
will reintroduce maintenance grants for university
students, and we will abolish university tuition
fees.
· Restore
the Education Maintenance Allowance for 16 to
18-year-olds from lower and middle income
