During Prime Minister's questions in the Commons today, Richard
Burden MP (Birmingham, Northfield, Labour) said: "When Melrose took
over GKN last year, they promised ministers they would back British
manufacturing and would not reduce the company's defence capacity
without the permission of the government. Last week, GKN announced
they intend to close the Kings Norton plant, which makes
