Forbes: UK remains most business friendly country in the World

• Forbes ranks the UK first for the second straight year in its ‘Best Countries for Business’, based on the strength of its workforce, innovation and lack of red tape

• The rankings were determined by rating 161 nations on 15 different factors: property rights, innovation, taxes, technology, corruption, infrastructure, market size, political risk, quality of life, workforce, freedom (personal, trade and monetary), red tape and investor protection.

• The U.K. was the only country to rank among the top 30 countries in each of the categories.
  
  
  
• UK exports currently stand at £626bn a year, and have risen for 31 straight months.

International Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox MP said:

“For the second year running, the UK has been ranked by Forbes as the most business friendly country in the world. This is evidence of the fundamental strength of our economy and further undermines the arguments of those who would talk Britain’s economic prospects down.

“My international economic department is working hand-in-hand with industry to promote British exports around the world and attract investment into our economy. The record-breaking success we are having is built on the strengths recognised by Forbes.”
