communication specialism. We have colleagues in speech and language
who can help us, and we use specialists from within the United
Kingdom, including from the National Crime Agency. We can link in with
specialist interview advisers to give us, as interviewers, pointers
at the planning stage so that we can get the best information from
the child in a way that suits them. The current course in no way
makes police officers and social workers communication specialists.
We have to work together with partners to plan the interview and
make it bespoke for the individual child...
