John McDonnell MP, Labour’s Shadow Chancellor, commenting on a report that the Government’s decision not to cut stakes on fixed-odds betting terminals (FOBTs) from £100 to £2 until October 2019 was influenced by a “discredited” secret report commissioned by bookmakers, said: “The Chancellor's position on this issue is now completely untenable and he must now back the cross party amendment to the Finance Bill, which Labour will be supporting."
