Allied Healthcare’s financial difficulties shows the desperate state of the social care sector - Keeley

Barbara Keeley MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Social Care, responding to news that Allied Healthcare is facing financial difficulties, said:

“Allied Healthcare’s financial difficulties show the desperate state of the social care sector which is in danger of collapse because of this Government’s cuts.

“Relentless cuts to the budgets of councils who deliver care mean that £7 billion has been lost from adult social care since 2010, meaning councils have less to pay providers of home care.

“The Government must urgently come forward with plans to ensure that the nearly 8,000 people who currently receive state-funded care through Allied are not left without vital social care services.”
