DfT publishes research and analysis on future roads: public dialogue

Report presenting the results from a dialogue with members of the public about mobility service models and emerging road technologies of:

• electric vehicles
• automated vehicles
• connected vehicles and real-time information
• platooning

The dialogue explored the:

• current public attitudes toward and experiences of the technology service areas
• expectations, hopes and fears about how the technology service areas might be employed in the future
• potential responses to the technology service areas in terms of journey choice, mode of transport and other effects

The findings from this research informed the development of the Draft ‘Road Investment Strategy 2’.
