School and college funding and SEND: Education Committee holds session on special education needs and disabilities funding

The Education Committee is to question educational experts, schools and local authorities on SEND funding as part of its inquiries into school and college funding and special educational needs and disabilities.

The meeting will explore how SEND is funded, the challenges faced by schools and local authorities and the impact of reforms to funding for pupils with SEND.

The SEND inquiry is examining the success of the Government’s 2014 reforms to the SEND system, while the inquiry into school and college funding is being held to determine what the Department for Education’s priorities should be for the next Spending Review period.
