Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) report: international students

From 4 October 2017 to 26 January 2018, the MAC held a call for evidence, and also met with many stakeholders. Details of organisations who submitted evidence are contained in the annex to the report. The main written call for evidence submissions received from stakeholders are being published, with the exception of two organisations who asked for their evidence to be confidential.

The MAC’s report provides summary data on international students and looks at the international context. The report assesses the impacts of international students in a range of areas:

• economic and fiscal impacts
• impacts on domestic students
• impacts on the wider community
• impacts after studies are completed

The report provides the MAC’s conclusions and recommendations.
