Odds cut on Elon Musk to step down from Tesla amid cave diver war of words and weed smoking revelations

Following Elon Musk’s claims that a cave diver who helped to rescue a stranded Thai football team is a ‘child rapist’, alongside footage of him smoking weed on a live web show, bookmakers have cut the price on him stepping down from Tesla.

Irish bookie Paddy Power make it odds-on at 4/6 that he is successfully sued by Vernon Unsworth, and 6/1 in from 20/1 that he walks from the luxury electric car company.

And, following his appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast where he appeared to smoke weed, alongside Azealia Banks’ recent drug use claims against him, it’s now 12/1 in from 25/1 for him to go to rehab.

Despite recent events, it’s rated 10/1 that the Tesla board of directors take disciplinary action against their outspoken CEO, with reports suggesting it would be costly to sack the face of the brand.

And, with a lawsuit from the diver which could amount to jail time, he’s now rated 8/1 in from 30/1 to receive some time inside.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “I thought Twitter must have glitched on the day that I saw one of the most powerful men in tech calling a cave rescuer a ‘paedo’.

“But, it was real life, and now we think he may dive away from Tesla before he is pushed. Either that, or he’ll end up in rehab.”
