Labour responds to Defence committee report on "Indispensable allies: US, NATO and UK Defence relations"

Nia Griffith MP, Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary, responding to the Defence Select Committee’s report ‘Indispensable allies: US, NATO and UK Defence relations,’ said:

“We must have proper investment in our Armed Forces and our defences if the UK is to retain its rightful place as a Tier 1 military nation.

“Instead of engaging in childish rows with Cabinet colleagues, the Defence Secretary should commit to end the short-sighted and damaging cuts that have weakened our national security and undermined our standing with international allies.”
