Lords committee to publish report on the economics of Higher Education, Further Education and Vocational Training

On Monday 11 June 2018 the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee will be publishing its report, Treating Students Fairly: The Economics of Post-School Education. 

In the report the Committee has sought to answer two key questions:

• Is the current structure of post-school education and training, and the way it is financed, appropriate for the modern British economy?
• What changes are required to develop a system that meets the needs of enterprise and the labour market whilst providing value for students and the Government?

The cross-party Committee, with former Chancellors, Permanent Secretaries to the Treasury and leading business figures as members, received evidence from over 150 experts and organisations during its inquiry. The Committee’s report will set out a package of reforms to post-school education.
