Research published on parental leave

The Government Equalities Office has published research examining the factors that influence parental decision making around return to work, including the trial of policy interventions.

This is a report on research undertaken by the Behavioural Insights Team on behalf of the Government Equalities Office, with two main aims:

1. To understand how parents make decisions about the sharing of childcare responsibilities when returning to work.
2. To design and test interventions that could motivate fathers to take a more active caring role.
