The Earl of Clancarty (CB):...What is being asked for in this
amendment is very simple, and the precedent already exists, as this
is no different from the dual citizenships that some in this House
possess. The amendment asks only for the continuing acknowledgement
of that additional citizenship. Do we now wish to start stripping
people of all citizenships that are not British—for example,
Australian, Canadian, American, Indian, Chinese? The list goes
